The emf (voltage) induced in a single loop of conductive material, such as a wire, is proportional to the rate of change of the magnetic flux d(B dot A) / dt.
For N loops, this is N d(B dot A) / dt.
B dot A is the vector product of the magnetic field B and the perpendicular to the area, A.
