what is the answer and how do you divide this places answer asap

Sam and dede make 9  1/2 cups of snack mix they put all the snack mix into the plastic bags they put 2/3 of a cup of the snack mix into each bag how many plastic bags do they need

First find a common denominator.

 

9 1/2 cups (19/2 cups) and 2/3 cups do not have a common denominator. A common denominator can always be found by multiplying together all denominators (2 * 3 = 6). This is not always the lowest common denominator.

 

19/2 = 57/6,

2/3 = 4/6

 

57/4 = 14 1/4 bags

 

They will need 15 bags - 14 full and 1 with a little extra.
