Here is a step-by-step direction on how to set rules for Outlook emails.
- When wanting to set any kind of rule regarding incoming emails (from, to, cc, subject, etc), open one of the emails you wish to make a rule for.
- Across the top toolbar at the far right, you will see the ellipses (also known a three dots or meatball menus). In the drop-down options, you will see "Rules".
- You can either choose to manage existing rules or create a new one.
- If you create a new one, you can add a name to the rule, and choose what emails will go to that folder (to, from, cc, subject line, keywords, marks or flags, message size, and received date).
- You can then choose the action pertaining to that email or email type. Such as forward to others, redirect, mark as junk or important, move to folder, etc).
- You will be able to make this rule a setting for all past, current, and future emails received that meet your rule requirement.
