Can you make this table? Each minute that goes by means an increase of 3 gallons in the pool.

 

t's (input) are the minutes >>>>  horizontal axis (independent variable)

w's (output) are the gallons. >>> vertical axis (dependent variable)

etc... 

 

this would be a continuous function. There is a continuous line connecting these points that represents the gallons of water flowing into the pool between the discrete time points of 1,2, 3... minutes. (the water is flowing at 1.5 minutes, for example)
