So, the way to solve this would be to algebraically define both computers in terms of the same variable.
I'll use "A" as the variable to represent what you were calling "another computer."
So, algebraically your two computers can be represented as "A" and "5A - 3."
Your equation would then be:
A + 5A - 3 = 12.3
