You can find the slope from the two points you have

 

m = slope = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

 

m = (-4 - -1)/(-2 - 3)

 

  = -3/-5

 

m  = 3/5

 

Now use the following point-slope formula

 

y - y₁= m(x - x_{1) and plug in the x and y values from the first point in the problem (-2, -4)}

 

y - -4 = 3/5(x - -2)

 

y + 4 = 3/5(x + 2)

 

the 2 is what is missing in y+4=3/5(x+_)
