Let's write an equation for the given information.
1 item is 2.2 lbs.
2 items is 3.4 lbs.
3 items is 4.6 lbs.
From this information we can graph this info or write out some relations, such as, (1,2.2), (2,3.4), and (3,4.6). You now have the task of writing an equation given two points. Surely you have covered this concept in class. In order to write the equation of a line, you need the slope and at least one point. What's missing in this problem now is the slope. Figure out what the slope is using any two out of the three ordered pairs. You now have the slope. Next, pick any one ordered pair as your point. Now input this info into the point slope equation: y-y1=m(x-x1). You will then have your answer. Good luck!
