Sam can mow his yard in 4.5 hours. Lucy can mow the same yard in 2.5 hours. How long will it take them to mow the lawn together?

 

 

please answer-entirely... I have no idea how to approach this still after it being explained.

Sam’s part would be 1/4.5 x + Lucy’s part of 1/2.5 x = 1 (whole yard)

 

so .222x + .40 x = 1 and solve to get the answer:)
