Convert back to base 10

Change numbers from base 10 to indicated bases:

 

1202 to base 3

When looking to convert a number from a different base to base 10, the first thing you should do is determine what each place in the number means.  For example, for 3456 in base 10, the 6 is in the ones place, the 5 is in the tens place (10x1), the 4 in the hundreds (10x10 or 10²), and the 3 in the thousands (10x10x10 or 10³).

 

So for 1202, the places from right to left are ones, threes (3x1), nines (3x3 or 3²) and twenty sevens (3x3x3 or 3³).

 

If we add 1 twenty seven, 2 nines, 0 threes and 2 ones, we get (1x27)+(2x9)+(0x3)+(2x1), or 27+18+0+2, which equals 47.

I now think you mean convert 1202base3 to base 10. You said convert to base 3, which is what I did.
