Hi, Shelby.
When looking to convert a number from a different base to base 10, the first thing you should do is determine what each place in the number means. For example, for 3456 in base 10, the 6 is in the ones place, the 5 is in the tens place (10x1), the 4 in the hundreds (10x10 or 102), and the 3 in the thousands (10x10x10 or 103).
So for 1202, the places from right to left are ones, threes (3x1), nines (3x3 or 32) and twenty sevens (3x3x3 or 33).
If we add 1 twenty seven, 2 nines, 0 threes and 2 ones, we get (1x27)+(2x9)+(0x3)+(2x1), or 27+18+0+2, which equals 47.
