First, find a recipe.
Suppose that a recipe calls for ¾cup of sugar, to make 12 cookies.
To double the recipe (making 24 cookies), you will have to multiply ¾ by two to find how much sugar is needed;
to halve the recipe, you will need to calculate ½•¾ (half OF ¾).
