The strong force causes all the nuclear particles to be attracted to each other.
Only large atoms are radioactive. The nucleus needs to be so large that the particles on the outside are weakly held by the strong force and can break away more easily.
#1) you have wrong.
An alpha particle is the same as a helium nucleus - 2 protons and 2 neutrons.
So if an alpha particle were emitted from any atom its atomic mass will decrease by 4, 2 protons and 2 neutrons.
