A vertical line means that all points on such line have all the same values of x.

This line is x=-2.

Slope is the change-of-y divided by the change-of-x.

The change of x is zero.  Zero cannot be a denominator.  A denominator is also known as a divisor.  In mathematics, nothing can be divided by zero.  Henceforth, the slope is undefined.
