Ralph's answer of 35/6 is correct, but you need to know how to get there.
You have 5 and 5/6, right?
We need to make 5, which is really 5/1, comparable to 5/6.
To do this, we multiply 5/1 by 6/6 (6/6 being equivalent to 1/1 or simply 1, which we're allowed to do), and we get 30/6.
Now we have 30/6 and 5/6. These clearly have the same denominator (the number on the bottom of the fraction), and we can simply add them together, totaling to 35/6.
On a side note, IF 35 and 6 were divisible by a common number, we could simplify (e.g. 5/10 could be simplified to 1/2 because 5 and 10 are both divisible by 5). That isn't the case here, however, so 35/6 is the simplest, improper fraction that can be made.
