Hi Victoria,
To find f(x) + g(x) we simply add together the expressions representing these functions:
f(x) = 3x3 - 5x2 + 9x + 7
+ g(x) = 2x3 + 0x2 + 11x - 15
-------------------------------------
Sum = 5x3 - 5x2 + 20x - 8 (our answer)
Arithmetic operations on function follow the same rules as arithmetic operations on numbers.
Thanks for submitting this problem and glad to help.
God bless, Jordan.
