Hi! Please help me solve: 24x^2+12y^2

I am a seventh grader and I need help with factorizing these kind of expressions. By the way, the "^" means squared. So 2^ means two squared.

If we examine each term in the polynomial, we can see that the greatest common factor (GCF) of these terms is 12.  This means we can factor using distributive property.
