24x^2+12y^2

Hi! Please help me solve: 24x^2+12y^2
I am a seventh grader and I need help with factorizing these kind of expressions. By the way, the "^" means squared. So 2^ means two squared.
Thanks!

Andrew M.

One small note Hannah ....  ref the  "^"   it does not mean 'squared'... it means 'to the power of'

x^2 is x squared
x^3 is x cubed
...
x^n is x 'to the power of n'
