I'm looking for a Japanese tutor for structured conversation practice and lessons. My biggest gaps are verb conjugations and producing sentences in real time — both hard to develop through self-study alone. I'd love lessons centered on conversation, loosely structured around the grammar points I've been working through.

I am looking for a tutor that can help me build my conversational skills in Japanese, as well as establishing a better foundation of grammar. I used to study Japanese in high school but that was over a decade ago. I have been traveling to Japan a lot recently (mainly for a small band/live house concerts) became friends with people there, but I want to improve my skills so I can deepen my relationships with them. At my current level, I can read hiragana, struggle a bit with katakana, and have some basic phrases memorized. However I am confident that I can pick up language again, especially with someone holding me accountable.
I am looking for a tutor that can teach me in person.

I wanted to reach out to inquire about in-person Japanese lessons? For context, I'm half-Japanese from my mother's side, but I wasn't able to learn the language as a child. At best, I knew basic words/phrases and could maybe understand what my family was discussing via context clues (e.g. basic words, tone of voice, etc.). I always wanted to fill this gap to better connect with my family, but in recent years I've especially felt motivated to embrace my heritage. I had an instructor for the past few months who was fantastic, but I just moved from Rhode Island to San Francisco in March, so I'm hoping to find a new instructor.
I will say that I do prefer learning in-person. I tried lessons with an online instructor in the past, and she was not bad at all, but the intentionality of meeting someone physically and reviewing lessons/homework together is something that I really appreciate.
I had worked partway through Genki 1 Ch. 4 and just started Kanji Look and Learn by the time I left. Monday/Friday after 4pm would be easiest for me - I will be away tomorrow 4/3 - 4/17, but I'd love to maybe meet virtually once to introduce ourselves. I'm glad to discuss an eventual meeting place too.

My husband has been studying Japanese for a few years now and will be taking his exam in the fall. We are now looking for a tutor for our 2.5 year old. We would love for a teacher to come and teach her through play, maybe through tools we already have such as animal puzzles, flashcards,.. for an hour every other week alongside my husband. We would love to start mid July on a Wednesday or Friday around noon.

I am a business professional looking to learn Japanese as there is a potential opportunity next year that I could be sent to live and work in Japan with my company. Looking to do 3 times a week for an hour until 2027 if a good fit and my budget continues to permit. I live on the East Coast, so I would only be able to do virtual.

We have two 9yo daughters who had previously been in a dual-language immersion program in Japanese on the east coast, and we're looking to continue their Japanese education with weekly tutoring.

I’m reaching out as I’m interested in in-person Japanese tutoring services for my daughter. She is a high school student in her second year of Japanese. Just double checking if you would be able to come to our house what your price would be. Thanks so much!

I am looking for an in person translator for about two hours. I have someone coming in from Japan that is doing a facility tour in Port St. Lucie Florida. I need somebody who can communicate with him during this time. This will be on March 18 at about noon.

I have recently completed very basic introduction to Japanese. I honestly did not retain very much from those tutor lessons.
Are any tutors able to meet at the Renton Highlands library for lessons?
