I’m Kimberly! I graduated from Western Governors University in October 2021 with a master’s degree in Nursing Education. Although a recent graduate, I have worked as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. I have worked in several different areas and enjoyed becoming a preceptor in most of my roles. I enjoy training new nurses and nurses new to the position for a couple of reasons. First, to ensure the patients receive exceptional care, and second, to ensure the nurses are well-supported and have a strong foundation to prepare for future success in their role. I have also enjoyed a dual role as a preceptor and clinical educator at the home health agency where I am currently employed. In this role, I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with nurses new to the company and train small and large groups of clinicians in a classroom setting.
I use a similar philosophy when tutoring nursing students and nurses studying for the NCLEX PN or RN exams. I am committed to the success of the student and individualize study plans to meet the needs of each student. My primary subject for tutoring is NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN along with tutoring nursing school subjects of all stages from fundamentals of nursing through master’s degree nursing courses. The students I typically tutor are adult learners, but I do have experience working with teens as well. In addition to nursing, I enjoy proofreading and assisting with writing assignments, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint which are tools I used to succeed both in nursing school and throughout my career.
It is my goal to assist students to reach their maximum potential; to provide guidance and support for the student to gain independence in achieving their established goals. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to schedule lessons.
