Hello, my name is Jim. I graduated from the University of Washington Tacoma with a Bachelor's in Computer Science and Systems. During my free time on campus, I shared my adept ability of reading code and debugging programs to help those I studied with improve their skills and grades. Studying with classmates made me realize it is a passion of mine to help others learn how to program, which led me to spend the last year of college tutoring for introductory Java classes and data structures.

My typical tutoring sessions consisted of a small class of students meeting multiple times for a total of 8 hours per week. To prepare for classes, I would create and assign worksheets that would benefit the students. The content was based on the subjects introduced to them during the week. As a sneak peek, I would even include a few future topics that they could try to figure out. Many of my students appreciated the worksheets because it allowed them to ask their teachers more specific questions on the subject matter and overall, they felt more prepared for the class.

I understand the struggles of grasping computer science concepts and how to overcome them. As your tutor, I will bring the same knowledge and qualities to help you learn and retain the skills needed to complete your goals.
