Ave! (Hello!) I am recent graduate from the College of William and Mary (magna cum laude) taking a gap year before pursuing graduate work in the field of classics. I have a deep passion for the world and languages of the ancient Mediterranean with a focus on Roman-Carthaginian interaction in my research. I love teaching because I get to make these topics more accessible with my students and see them develop their own unique interests and insight. With each student I individualize my approach as I know from experience with countless different instructors and peers that learning— especially language learning— is not one size fits all.

During my time at William and Mary I studied Greek (4 years), Latin (3 years), and Hebrew (1 year formal/1 informal) extensively. I received A’s in every language class after my first semester of Greek. I served as secretary of the Eta Sigma Phi Classical Languages fraternity between 2019-2020. I also engage in considerable independent study of classical texts and am currently seeking publication of a piece on bilingual interaction between Latin, Greek, and Punic (a close cousin of Hebrew) in Plautine Comedy.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested or have further questions, vale! (be well!)

Simply The Best

Ancient Greek is no small feat, but Keegan makes it a lot easier to understand than most professors. His thorough and efficient teaching style allow me to retain (quite complex and ever- ) grammar and syntax that is starkly different to its modern counterpart. Additionally, his impressive and extensive knowledge of Classical Civilizations add an interesting and informative layer to the sessions. Thank you, Keegan!
