Hello! I'm KB, a senior at UArizona with a 3.97 GPA. I have worked part-time as a private tutor for 6 years.

Hello! I'm KB, a senior at UArizona with a 3.97 GPA. I have worked part-time as a private tutor for 6 years.

My goal as a tutor is to eliminate my students' need for a tutor in the first place. To do so, I address the most common root cause:

Students aren't taught to think critically and adapt on the fly to problems they haven't seen before. Instead, they're taught to memorize solutions to cookie-cutter problems.

My solution:

I heavily emphasize understanding of core concepts and the "why" behind them. My goal is always to achieve the oft-elusive "click".

When introducing a new topic, I keep "lectures" as short as possible, loading most of my teaching into examples with incrementally rising complexity. My goal in doing so is to foster the student's critical thinking and ability to adapt to new problems.

I require a high level of involvement from my students. Most of a session is spent with the student working through problems, verbalizing their thought process throughout. I frequently ask both pointed and open-ended questions to find gaps in understanding, which I then address on a case-by-case basis. As a firm believer that communication is the most important skill post-education, I place an emphasis on the student's ability to explain concepts completely and concisely.

My methods allow students to learn at the absolute fastest rate they are capable of, without sacrificing understanding. Unlike a traditional classroom, we will not spend unnecessary time on a mastered concept, nor will we advance prematurely from a poorly understood concept. Our pace is entirely dependent on the student's ability and willingness to learn.

I tailor my teaching style to the material and learning/thinking style of each student.

I am very easy to reach and provide fast responses. If you have any additional questions or would like to schedule a lesson, consultation, or trial session, send me a message!

Skilled and Communicative

Kaushal B. explained to me the rules of derivatives. He also explained the different values of Average Cost/Revenue, the Marginal Cost/Revenue, and the Total Cost/Revenue and how they can relate to each other mathematically. What I appreciate about Kaushal B.'s tutoring style is that he'll go through a step-by-step process of how certain equations work and why they logically work that way. In addition, after Kaushal B. has finished an in-depth explanation about a certain subject, he'll allow you to work out a few problems on your own to see whether or not you fully understand the subject. If there is still trouble with understanding the topic, Kaushal B. will work with you on the harder subjects, so you can master the material. I highly recommend this tutor!
