I have a bachelor's from Whitman College in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology and a Certificate in Biotechnology from Shoreline Community College. Since earning my bachelor's in 2005 and my certificate in 2017, I have tutored a diverse group of students in a wide variety of environments ranging from high school students privately to college students in university learning centers at Walla Walla Community College, Washington State University, and Shoreline Community College.

I have been tutoring various topics in math and science since 2005. For math, I have tutored algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus (differential, integral, and sequences and series) most often. For science, I have tutored chemistry (general and organic) and biology (general—high school and college) most often.

What I enjoy most about about tutoring is helping the student develop the tools to find the answers. My approach is therefore to refer back to course materials or online resources so that the student can see the process taken to arrive at a conclusion. Consequently, I ask many of questions that lead the student to the answer. I will also try to summarize the process of solving the problem once it is completed, because I find reviewing helpful in cementing the concepts just covered.
