Hello! My name is Sky. I received my Master’s Degree from UW and I have been tutoring in the Seattle area since 2009. I received a perfect score on the GRE and ACT math sections of the tests, but what makes me a great teacher is my ability to break down complex ideas into simpler, memorable pieces. I have always thought that if a student doesn’t understand my explanation, then it is the explanation that must get better. Over the years, I have refined my explanations to many topics based on how students have responded, and developed creative mnemonics to make learning easier.

Subjects I offer:

Math - At our first meeting I will be able to test the student’s fundamentals and I can quickly find deficiencies that are holding them back. Math homework can be a major struggle for both students and parents, especially if the student gets behind in the class. Math is a skill that must be practiced, and anyone can achieve their goals with the right help. I have experience with students and curriculum from schools all around the Seattle area, and with GRE/ACT/SAT test preparation.

Economics - I have a MA in Economics, and I currently work at the UW tutoring center as the head economics tutor.

French - I lived in France for 3 years when I was younger, and I designed a course to learn French using songs that has been very popular with students.
