I specialize in standardized tests, especially SAT, ACT and LSAT. Although I generally consider myself a mathematician, having studied and taught philosophy at UW for seven years, I also have developed effective communication and pedagogical skills that make me unusually qualified to provide thorough and well-rounded approaches to each of these tests. My background is particularly well-suited to the LSAT, insofar as the field of philosophy is laden with both formal and informal logic, strict and careful scrutiny of dense texts, and presenting cogent arguments clearly and concisely.

In addition to my work in standardized tests, I have been tutoring math since the early '90s and regularly work with students in courses from algebra through calculus. Although the market is much smaller, I do still work occasionally with students in academic philosophy, and I am always eager to work with students studying logic.

I have been a part-time private tutor for about 25 years. In addition to my freelance work, I have helped students at University Tutoring Service and Central Test Prep in Seattle and at Boston Global Education in Westborough, MA. I am committed to helping students gain a deep understanding of the material they are studying, not just getting through their current homework assignment or upcoming test.

Great tutor with helpful feedback

Luke did a really good job of figuring out what areas I most need to work on. We focused on the GRE quantitative section. I found his feedback very helpful.
