Hi, I’m Will! I recently graduated summa cum laude from Cal Poly with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. This fall, I will start my PhD in Physics at the University of Washington. During my undergraduate studies, I took physics classes covering classical, quantum, and statistical mechanics, as well as electricity and magnetism, particle physics, thermodynamics, and circuits. I also took math classes covering calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, vector analysis, and introductory proofs. In these classes, the most important thing I learned was not any specific formula, but how to think critically about math and physics in general. As your tutor, I will not only help you solve specific problems, I will also inculcate a logical method you can apply to solve similar problems independently in the future.
I have multiple years of experience tutoring students in introductory physics. As a Learning Assistant, I helped students in electricity and magnetism complete in-class worksheets and set up experiments. Also, as a member of the physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma, I tutored students weekly in a variety of introductory physics classes, assisting them in solving challenging homework problems and reviewing for upcoming exams. At this point, I’ve worked with quite a few students at Cal Poly, and am confident I can help with any high school or undergraduate-level physics problem you throw at me. Thanks for reading!
