I hold a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Florida, where my research focused on statistical analysis, signal processing, and computational modeling for a large-scale dark matter detection experiment. My graduate coursework covered classical and quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, mathematical methods of physics, linear algebra, differential equations, and statistical mechanics at an advanced level, giving me deep fluency in the subjects that undergraduate students find most challenging.
I have been tutoring mathematics and physics privately since my undergraduate years, accumulating over 15 years of one-on-one teaching experience with students ranging from high school to upper-division college level. My approach is to meet students where they are rather than just walking through procedures. I find that most students who struggle with these subjects have a gap in the underlying intuition rather than just a missing formula, so I focus on building genuine understanding first and then connecting it to the mechanics of solving problems. I am patient, direct, and comfortable adjusting my explanations until something clicks.
Beyond private tutoring, I spent seven years working alongside undergraduate and graduate students in a research environment, explaining complex mathematical and physical concepts to collaborators at varying levels of background. That experience reinforced how to translate difficult ideas across different levels of preparation, which carries directly into tutoring sessions. Whether a student needs to get through a calculus exam, understand why differential equations behave the way they do, or build real intuition for Newtonian mechanics, I am comfortable working at whatever depth the situation calls for.
