With nearly four decades of hands-on experience in CAD and BIM, I began working with AutoCAD in 1987 at version 2.5 and have grown alongside the industry ever since. I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Aided Drafting from Phoenix Institute of Technology and have worked professionally across structural, civil, and architectural engineering environments, giving me a broad, real-world perspective on how Revit and AutoCAD are used in practice. I also participated in early beta testing for Revit, which gave me an unusually deep understanding of the software from the ground up.
My teaching experience includes serving as an instructor at Seattle Central College from 2019 to 2020, where I taught courses in their Revit Certification program. I designed and delivered curriculum aligned with industry standards, mentored students on real-world BIM workflows, and worked with adult learners in both classroom and one-on-one settings. Beyond formal instruction, I have spent years training colleagues and engineering teams at firms like Coughlin Porter Lundeen, including leading the transition of an entire structural department from AutoCAD to Revit.
My tutoring approach focuses on practical application over rote memorization. I meet students where they are, whether they are complete beginners or professionals trying to level up a specific skill, and tailor lessons to their actual workflow and goals. Having used these tools on major projects ranging from Seahawks Stadium to the Microsoft Campus, I bring context that goes well beyond what any textbook can offer.
