I’ve taught writing and literature to a broad range of people: university students in the US, Germany, and Taiwan; high school students in Czechia; and at a summer camp in Switzerland. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Rochester with degrees in English and German, I went on to complete a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Washington, interspersed with time abroad. I taught American literature and cultural studies at Donghai University in Taiwan for a while before coming back to the US and transitioning into tech, where I became a trainer at Microsoft.
I love fostering those “ah hah” flashes of insight people get after working through a difficult stretch of writing or analysis. I will meet you where you are and help you develop your insights and voice in a way that AI alone cannot. I’ll teach you how to write, how to research, and how to develop critical thinking skills that are vital in any arena.
I’m happy to meet for free before lessons take place to make sure this is a good fit for you.
