Hello, my name is Karen M. I am a bilingual elementary teacher fluent in both Spanish and English with eight years of teaching experience supporting diverse learners. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with Reading and ELL endorsements, as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout my career, I have specialized in literacy development and language acquisition, helping students build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, comprehension, and academic language. My educational background and classroom experience have equipped me with the ability to create engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs.
I have taught students in grades K–5 in a variety of classroom settings, working closely with multilingual learners and students with diverse academic abilities. My teaching approach focuses on building confidence, fostering meaningful relationships, and using research-based strategies to support student growth. I have extensive experience providing small-group and individualized instruction in literacy and language development, using targeted interventions, hands-on learning, and differentiated support to help students succeed. I am currently seeking opportunities to provide one-on-one tutoring during afternoons and throughout the summer to further support students’ academic growth and individual learning needs.
