Hi, I’m Vas! I graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Cognitive Science. I’ve always enjoyed both learning and teaching, and I’ve been tutoring and mentoring in various forms throughout my academic life. In high school, I took over 10 AP courses and earned 5s in my math and English AP exams, including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP English Language, and AP Psychology.
In college, I served as president of my Women in Computing club, where I led workshops and mentored students in technical subjects. I’ve also tutored K–12 students informally, including younger siblings, friends, and through workshop-style teaching. I especially enjoy working with younger students and helping them build confidence in subjects that feel challenging at first.
I like to prepare for each session in advance so lessons are tailored and efficient, often reviewing topics or homework problems ahead of time to make the most of our time together. My tutoring style is structured but friendly, focusing on breaking concepts down clearly and adapting explanations to each student’s learning style. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
