I have three years experience at the high school/middle school level with English and Journalism. Most of my experience includes 27 years teaching adults and college students ESL at Japanese universities. Most of my experience is in the classroom but also includes one on one instruction in writing and other aspects of teaching.
One on one sessions would focus on identifying weaknesses and planning strategies to support those weaknesses. For example, reviewing the step by step process multiple draft approach to process writing. Once the weak points are identified suggestions for building these skills would be addressed. This approach will be applied to other weak points of study.
