I have experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to non-native speakers in both classroom and online settings. I have worked with over 100 students, primarily in South Korea, as well as in Austria, and the United States, mainly with high school and adult learners. Across these different teaching environments, I have helped students improve their speaking confidence, understand sentence structure, and develop a more natural way of using Mandarin in real-life communication.

My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Japanese Language and a Master's degree from Inje University in South Korea. I also hold a TOEFL C1-level certificate, which reflects my ability to explain Mandarin clearly and effectively in English. In addition, I have completed a HarvardX (edX) course in Chinese Humanities, which reflects my ongoing interest in understanding and teaching Chinese language and culture from a deeper perspective.
In my teaching, I focus on helping students move beyond translating word by word. Instead, I guide them to understand the logic and structure of Mandarin, so they can begin to think more naturally in the language. My lessons are structured, patient, and adapted to each student’s goals, whether they are learning for daily communication, academic purposes, or personal interest.
