Hi, I'm Harkirat! I am an experienced math tutor with over 2000+ hours of tutoring experience, working with students from diverse age groups and math levels (K-12 & college). I received my Master's in Applied Mathematics and my Ph.D. in Biomedical & Health Informatics, both from the University of Washington. For my bachelor's degree, I double-majored in Applied & Computational Mathematical Sciences and Molecular Biology.

I love teaching math and I am here to make the subject fun and accessible for my students. I am able to tutor all math grade levels K-12, upto Calculus and General Chemistry. I have experience working one-one-one
in math and science with High school, middle school and elementary school students, as well as teaching experience
as a Math faculty at Shoreline Communtiy College. I also have direct experience teaching university students at the
University of Washington as a Teaching Assistant where I independently taught Math and Applied Math sections,
as well teaching as an instructor for summer programs , teaching Calculus to incoming freshmen at UW.

My teaching approach involves providing a structured framework to students for solving problems as well as
training them to become independent thinkers who are confident in approaching new problems. I work with the
needs of the students and makes sure they are comfortable asking me any questions. I aim to get a good grasp on
what a student knows about a topic before diving into teaching and build on their skills and knowledge from there.
I am easy to approach and like working with students of all ages and backgrounds. It is a great honor for me to see my
students feeling more confident and excited about math due to our tutoring sessions. I look forward to
bringing my excitement and love for math in all of my tutoring sessions.
