Hi! I'm a Data Science Master's student passionate about helping students learn about statistics and efficient study techniques. I earned a 5 on the AP Statistics exam, and graduated from UC Davis with a 3.9/4.0 GPA and Honors with a Bachelors in Statistics and a Minor in Computer Science. I am currently pursuing a Data Science Master's at the University of Washington, Seattle. My statistics background includes probability theory, hypothesis testing, linear regression, and machine learning. Throughout college, I worked as an undergraduate tutor and assisted in teaching an introductory computer science course for three years, where I supported students through individualized teaching methods and understanding their learning needs.
I am interested in teaching high school/undergraduate students foundational statistics topics, as these are often found confusing in intro stats classes. For each session, I hope to ask students how they best learn (visual/auditory/read learning) and figure out a method that matches their learning style. I'm able to teach either slow-paced or fast-paced based on a student's needs and can break down statistical concepts into bite-sized pieces for students to understand. Overall, I am passionate about helping students build confidence in quantitative subjects and focus not just on content mastery, but also on effective study strategies and long-term learning skills.
