I am a patient, curiosity-driven tutor who believes that meaningful learning happens when students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and thinking deeply about ideas rather than memorizing procedures. My teaching approach emphasizes conceptual understanding alongside practical problem-solving, so students understand the reasoning behind a particular idea and how to apply it to new contexts.
I hold a master’s degree in Climate Science from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois. During my degrees I conducted research in climate data science, blending scientific programming (in Python and SQL) with statistical modeling to understand droughts around the world. My academic and research training blends quantitative rigor with real-world applications, allowing me to connect mathematical and scientific concepts to tangible environmental and technological challenges.
For three years during college, I tutored hundreds of students across STEM subjects, developing the ability to explain complex material clearly to learners with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. I also served as a teaching assistant for a course on Earth’s climate, where I led discussion sections, wrote exam and homework materials, supported students through challenging concepts, and helped bridge theory with real-world climate systems.
In my sessions, I prioritize clarity, intuition, and active practice. I work with students to diagnose where confusion arises, break problems into manageable steps, and build confidence through guided problem-solving. Whether you are struggling with foundational concepts or looking to deepen your understanding, I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps you grow as an independent thinker.
