Hello! My name is Christina, and I am passionate about helping students learn Japanese, mathematics, coding, and music in a way that is both effective and enjoyable. I am currently studying Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Washington. I have extensive experience with Japanese, having attended Hawaii Japanese School for 11 years using the same textbooks as students in Japan. I also achieved a score of 5 on the AP Japanese Test in high school and earned the Seal of Biliteracy for Japanese proficiency.
I began teaching Japanese, math, and saxophone to peers in elementary school and have since worked with students of various ages, from middle school to high school, in settings including one-on-one tutoring, small group sessions, and volunteer study programs.
My approach focuses on building confidence, adapting lessons to each student’s needs, and fostering a supportive learning environment. With my combined educational background and years of tutoring experience, I am confident in my ability to help students strengthen their Japanese reading, writing, and speaking skills, as well as master math concepts, all while making the learning process enjoyable and rewarding.
