Hi, I'm Simone! I graduated summa cum laude from Wellesley College with a major in Psychology and a minor in Cinema & Media Studies. I have always loved to write and started helping others with their writing at Wellesley as both a writing tutor and a teacher's assistant in a writing intensive course.

As a writing tutor, I worked one-on-one with students on a short-term basis who needed help completing academic or professional writing assignments. I always try and set my students at ease and open the floor up for them to be honest about questions they may have throughout the session. I will ask my student to tell me what their end goal for the session is so that I am clear on their goals and can manage their expectations and craft a plan. As a teacher’s assistant, I worked with students over a semester to build confidence in their writing. I created a syllabus dedicated to their goals and helping them practice their outlining, drafting and writing process, and checked in step-by-step to help them build these skills and keep them on track. I worked to make sure the assignments were tailored not only toward their goals, but also toward their interests, to ensure I was helping build a positive association with writing for them.

While engaging in a bit of line editing during my tutoring sessions, I mainly try to zoom out and focus on structure, argument and flow. This way, my student can walk away with a better idea of how to target essay assignments or craft a story.

I want to have an open dialogue with my students so they feel comfortable telling me what's working and what's not, so that we can both get the most out of our sessions. I am easy to reach and respond in a timely manner. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson today!

Essay Writing

Essay Writing

While at Wellesley College, I helped students at the Peer Learning Center with various types of writing assignments. I worked with students who wanted to strengthen their arguments in academic papers, brainstorm how to tackle an essay prompt, polish a paper before submission, and more. Additionally, I worked one-on-one with students on a longer-term basis as a teacher's assistant for a writing intensive course at Wellesley. In this role, I guided my students through the genesis of their assignments, which varied from scientific papers to standard essays to journalistic writing.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

Over the past several years, I have studied the craft of storytelling through college courses, such as Writing for Television, studied Save the Cat, and learned from professional screenwriters in both panels and classes. I have taken what I've learned from these experiences, and my minor in Cinema & Media Studies, and written my own scripts, one of which earned me a placement as a Second Rounder at the 2025 Austin Film Festival. This experience makes me well-versed in helping others create engaging stories, regardless of medium.
