I’ve always believed that learning is about more than just getting the right answers—it’s about helping students feel seen, supported, and capable. I earned my BA in English from Arizona State University and my MA in Teaching from Central Washington University, and while I’ve spent time in formal classrooms, my most meaningful experiences have been one-on-one, helping learners rediscover their confidence in reading and writing.
I’ve worked with students from early elementary through college, and I especially love helping learners who feel like traditional methods haven’t worked for them. Whether it’s untangling grammar rules, understanding complex literature, or finding the right words for a college essay, I focus on building trust first. From there, we work at a pace that feels manageable and affirming.
My approach is warm, patient, and adaptable. I ask questions, offer gentle structure, and aim to create a space where students can take risks and grow. Whether your student needs help catching up, keeping up, or moving ahead, I’m here to help them feel successful and proud of the progress they make.
