My name is Elaine, and I am excited to offer my tutoring services to help you achieve your academic goals! With over five years of teaching and tutoring experience across various subjects and contexts, I have developed a passion for education and a dedication to student success. I grew up in Santa Barbara, where I began my journey as a private tutor and nanny, helping children with their homework and academic challenges. My experience also includes working as a camp counselor, coach, and program manager at an outdoor camp, where I not only taught but also mentored young minds in a dynamic and engaging environment.

I hold a California Multiple Subject Teaching (MST) credential and a Master's degree in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). My background includes teaching and volunteering in public schools throughout California, working with K-8 students of all abilities. Whether it’s providing one-on-one support in math, reading, or science, or offering guidance on study skills and organizational strategies, I tailor my approach to meet each student's unique needs. I believe in fostering a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere where students feel confident to ask questions and express themselves.

Personally, I am enthusiastic by nature and enjoy outdoor hobbies in my free time. I believe life (and learning) should be fun, engaging, and hands-on. I love running, biking, skiing, climbing, backpacking, surfing, and almost anything outside.
