I am a full-time 1st grade teacher working in a top-ranked school district looking to tutor online I have knowledge and experience with Kindergarten through 4th grade, knowledge and experience with Common Core curriculum, STEM training, and GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Development) training for E. L. L. students. I have obtained my masters degree in teaching English Language Learners.

As part of my teaching experience, I differentiate daily math exercises to help students reach their fullest math potential. I am experienced in teaching Common Core math for Kindergarten and 1st grade students, and can help yours with counting, patterns, addition and subtraction, simple word problems, or even more challenging work if necessary.

Because of my experience teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade, I teach grammar daily with non-native and English speaking students. I have experience teaching phonics, phonemic awareness, pre-fixes, suffixes, and incorporate this subject into games and writing.

Teaching in a high-ranked school district, I have received annual training in Common Core, and have access to Common Core standards and curriculum daily. This is what makes me an outstanding tutor for students who struggle with Common Core.

I have experience and am trained in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Teaching 1st grade has allowed me the opportunity to provide learning opportunities in handwriting. I am accustomed to working with students who write right handed and left handed and can help with handwriting for both students.

If your child needs a primary grade level tutor, who has experience with Common Core, has experience with non-native English speaking students, and can help with reading, writing, math, science, is currently certified, and works in a top-ranked school district, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

Common Core

Common Core

Being a full-time Kindergarten teacher has allowed me ample time to become accustomed to the Common Core State Standards. The curriculum I use in my classroom states the CCSS so I am always aware of what CCSS I am teaching that day. I find it very effective when I am transparent with my students and states which CC state standard I am teaching so they are aware what the objective is. I also use G.L.A.D. strategies through out my classroom which aligns nicely with all the CCSS's .
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have 11 years of teaching various subjects K-5. I differentiate my instruction to meet various needs for each individual student daily. I am well rehearsed on various subject matters and curriculum that I have utilized over the last 11 years.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I feel I am qualified to tutor this subject because during my teaching career I have used effective teaching strategies in order to increase students understanding on the basics (Kindergarten), such as: counting cardinality, patterns, shapes (2d/3d), single digit addition, single digit subtraction, simple word problems, up to 4th grade math curriculum, which consists of place value, fractions, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, measurements, basic geometry.
Handwriting

Handwriting

Handwriting is best taught when the students are young, so I make it a point to teach proper handwriting skills daily in my classroom. I use Handwriting Without Tears primarily, and supplement with my own handwriting examples. I use checklists on my examples so students know exactly what I am expecting to see. This way, they learn the correct formation and direction of handwriting. For students who struggle with writing the correct formation of letters, I use a highlighter for them to trace, I hold their hand and write with them so they can feel the formation, and I also use sensory trays.
TOEFL

TOEFL

I work with many students from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds. I have received my masters in teaching multilingual (non-native English speakers) learners. I have 11+ years of teaching students who native language is not English.
