**I am NOT a Speech Pathologist. Please contact a licensed Speech Pathologist/Therapist if you need help with your child’s speech.** I do not accept Early Intervention or Severely disabled students for online tutoring.**

There are few things in life that bring me more joy than watching a student transition from confusion to comprehension. This joy is even sweeter when disability or hardship must also be overcome. I am used to and welcome challenge in the learning environment. I am always available to my students between lessons by phone, text, or email from 9am -9pm, Monday- Friday for homework questions or concerns at no additional charge.

My Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders gives me a more clinical view of problem/solution and speech/communication development; my professional education and student teaching experience in Special Education from James Madison University plus several years of teaching experience in public schools has given me an exceptional understanding of both Neurotypical learning as well as Neurodiverse (or Neuro-atypical) learners. I was designated as a "Highly Effective" teacher under "No Child Left Behind" legislation during my first year teaching. I owned a successful private tutoring business in a small town in southern Arizona for 6 years; I closed it when my husband's job took us cross-country. I have written and implemented IEP's. I have taught elementary Resource. I have tutored normally developing students for state-wide testing in public schools. I have taught elementary reading and math in public schools. I understand how to modify curriculum and assignments for either disability or learning environment differences. My "pass rate" and "goal reached" for the GED, ACT and SAT exams is 100%.

I have worked with students via VGo robot or webcam in a public school environment prior to COVID-19. I have a vast array of alternative education experiences that I can put to work to help your child succeed. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Ear training is identifying a specific tone or pitch by simply hearing the tone. I understand music theory and pitch, which is the basis of ear training. Sight Singing,

Sight Singing

Sight singing, or sight reading, is an essential skill for any musician. This skill requires a basic foundation in music theory and pitch. Every musician should be able to sight read music. I have been sight singing, or sight reading, in school, community, and church settings since 1996.

Great teacher

Jessica is a very responsible and experienced teacher with lots of patience. She helps my twins for writing and reading comprehension skill. I can see the difference between the lesson starts. And she also makes the digital learning organized and efficient. She also prepared very well on every lesson, the lesson went very smooth. I highly recommend her!

Jessica is a very patient educator.

Jessica has been helping my daughter learn to read. My daughter has picked up word sounds and tries them. A great leap in terms of how she has learned to differentiate some of the word sounds. I am extremely happy about how she is learning to read via online classes. Ms Jessica makes the class interactive and fun, with singing , writing, finding words, rhyming etc. Her patience and the ability to gently bring a child to re-focus on the subject in hand is praiseworthy.

Excellent! Would recommend to anyone.

I'm extremely happy with the choice I made. Mrs. H. was always professional, prompt and prepared. We covered many years of math in 4 weeks, at a pace tailored to me. She listened to my needs, answered questions, came with handouts, and was available for me to call or email anytime. For those reasons, I couldn't be happier. Being one on one accelerated my learning, and I can't imagine a teacher working harder to make and maintain a lesson plan for me. She was as friendly as you'll find, and seemed to genuinely care about my education. She made this process easy and comfortable. If I could, I would give her 6 stars to repay the favor, because she gave me 110%. We tackled some pretty difficult tasks, so I would highly recommend for any learning level!
