🎉 Meet Your Learning Champion! 🎉

With over two decades of educational wizardry under my belt, I’m a Special Education teacher and case manager who loves nothing more than helping students shine! From 2008 to 2018, I dove into the world of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and transformed the Elementary Resource classroom into a vibrant space for reading and math magic.

But wait, there’s more! I’ve also been the go-to tutor for students gearing up for state-wide testing, tackling all core subjects like a superhero in a cape (okay, maybe just a nice sweater). Whether it’s modifying lessons for different learning styles or guiding adults through the GED journey, I thrive on creativity and adaptability. My journey began in 1999 as a preschool teacher, and by 2004, I was juggling K-12 substitute roles while pursuing my college dreams!

As a certified independent teacher with a Master’s in Learning Design and Technology (yep, I just wrapped that up in 2024!), I get a thrill from watching my students progress and crush their goals. My teaching philosophy? One step at a time! We tackle specific skills, ensuring each learner feels accomplished—because every student is a unique masterpiece in the making! 🎨

To keep learning fun and engaging, I mix it up with a medley of interactive activities and media, all backed by research (no boring textbooks here!). Every lesson is custom-tailored, making sure it fits your child like a glove. Plus, I’m just a phone call, text, or email away from 9 AM to 9 PM EST, ready to tackle homework questions or concerns—no extra charge!

And about those low ratings? Let’s just say they’re from a parent who wanted me to PLAGARIZE her daughter’s homework. I wear those ratings like a badge of honor! 😄

I can’t wait to embark on this learning adventure with you and your child!

Patient, encouraging, amazing!

Jessica started helping our son with his writing assignments while our public school system experimented with distance learning during COVID 19. Jessica was super patient and encouraging as our son, who needs extra time due to executive functioning challenges associated with ADHD and slow processing speed. Jessica provided keen observations about our son's needs as they pertained to writing, which helped inform our work with his teacher and school counselors in developing an IEP. As the school year wound down, we came up with the idea for a fictional story that our son could write over the summer. Although writing is his toughest subject, our son was enthusiastic about the idea. He has been writing his story with Jessica's help over the past month. When Jessica felt that our son had reached a lull in his work, she reached out to me for feedback so we could determine what he needed to progress. I can't say enough great things about Jessica. She has been a great tutor to our son and a huge help to continue our son's summer learning.

Good at jumping in.

Son needed some last minute help for some college assignments. Focused in on the right level of help needed at the time. Very responsive and pleasant to work with!

Patient and kind!

She was very patient with our kindergartner and had plenty of age appropriate activities for her. I expressed my concerns with our daughter before the session, and she did exactly what she said she would! My little girl was nervous and she made her feel great by the end of the session. Amazing!

Amazing reading tutor!

Jessica has been tutoring both my daughters (ages 6 and 8) in reading. We have seen significant progress in their reading skills, interest in reading and confidence since they starting working with Jessica. She has a very effective approach and manages to keep my girls engaged for an hour over video (which is very challenging!). One of my daughters has dyslexia and ADHD and Jessica is able to provide a lesson for her that is very effective and tailored to her learning style. Both my daughters look forward to their sessions with Jessica because she makes it fun. I highly recommend Jessica for elementary school reading help.

Thanks!

Jessica has been a wonderful tutor for the past several weeks. She has patiently and skillfully helped my HS son work thru a writing disability, ADD and low confidence. We are looking forward to a more productive and less frustrating year! Thanks Jessica!!!

Great teacher

Jessica is a very responsible and experienced teacher with lots of patience. She helps my twins for writing and reading comprehension skill. I can see the difference between the lesson starts. And she also makes the digital learning organized and efficient. She also prepared very well on every lesson, the lesson went very smooth. I highly recommend her!

Thank you for your feedback! Your students are working hard and it shows! Keep up the great work!

Jessica is a very patient educator.

Jessica has been helping my daughter learn to read. My daughter has picked up word sounds and tries them. A great leap in terms of how she has learned to differentiate some of the word sounds. I am extremely happy about how she is learning to read via online classes. Ms Jessica makes the class interactive and fun, with singing , writing, finding words, rhyming etc. Her patience and the ability to gently bring a child to re-focus on the subject in hand is praiseworthy.

Excellent! Would recommend to anyone.

I'm extremely happy with the choice I made. Mrs. H. was always professional, prompt and prepared. We covered many years of math in 4 weeks, at a pace tailored to me. She listened to my needs, answered questions, came with handouts, and was available for me to call or email anytime. For those reasons, I couldn't be happier. Being one on one accelerated my learning, and I can't imagine a teacher working harder to make and maintain a lesson plan for me. She was as friendly as you'll find, and seemed to genuinely care about my education. She made this process easy and comfortable. If I could, I would give her 6 stars to repay the favor, because she gave me 110%. We tackled some pretty difficult tasks, so I would highly recommend for any learning level!
