I help high school students build meaningful extracurriculars and compelling college applications. I also tutor math (arithmetic to calculus).
COLLEGE ADMISSIONS
Through my 1:1 coaching, students earned admission at: Stanford • Cornell • Duke • Rice • UCLA • UC Berkeley • USC • UCSD • UCI • Colby College • UT Austin • Texas A&M • SMU • Fordham and more. I coach seniors applying this cycle, juniors preparing early, and freshman/sophomores planning extracurriculars. My Approach: Discover → Execute → Document → Frame
I use this to help students Find Extracurriculars, Select Schools, and Write Essays. Here's how I might help them Find Extracurriculars:
Discover: Answer “What energizes me?” not “What do colleges want to see?”
Execute: Turn your interests into impactful action: projects, programs, and internships.
Document: Track what you’ve done: stories of people helped and skills gained.
Frame: We develop your stories into your personal statements.
For every activity and essay, I ask: Could this belong to anyone? If the answer is Yes, we still have work to do. Let’s make your application unforgettable.
TUTORING
I am trained in the Mathnasium Method, a teaching philosophy that emphasizes building upon preexisting knowledge. During my 3 years at Mathnasium, I taught hundreds of students ages 5 to 17, concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced trigonometry. I improved 90% of students' grades and 93% of students' attitudes towards math.
When meeting I new student, I usually:
1) Ask them to solve problems independently to determine their level of knowledge.
2) Compare their current level to what is needed for homework/exams. If they are behind, we work to fill in the learning gaps. If they exceed the target level, I ask questions to challenge them.
Let’s make math easier. - Rohun :)
