I am currently a Texas certified LOTE-12 Latin teacher in the metroplex for a large ISD. However, I only have a few classes of Latin students this school year. I am wanting a Latin teaching position in which I teach Latin classes all day. Currently I am in the National Junior Classical League, the American Classical League, the Texas State Classical League, the Eta Sigma Phi (National Honor Society for Greek and Latin scholars) and I sponsor and take my Latin students to local as well as state competitions.
In addition, I currently serve as a delegate to Fort Worth Sister Cities International in which I will lead youth ambassadors to Nagaoka, Japan for several weeks in June 2012. I am hoping soon to organize a group through Sister Cities or other to take Latin students on study abroad trips to Italy and former parts of the Roman Empire. That is one of my goals.
I also have a Master's Degree in History. I am currently a Texas certified LOTE-12 Latin teacher in the metroplex for a large ISD. Gina is an excellent tutor. My daughter remarked that Gina was very thorough and able to cover a lot of material in a two hour session with great clarity. She said she was very encouraged that she made real progress in just one session. She really liked Gina and plans to continue working with her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
