My love for academics and passion for helping others brought me to a another well-known tutoring platform in 2021. I tutored reading, writing and Humanities on a remote basis with dozens of students of all ages. My most unique and rewarding tutoring experiences was with a seven-year-old boy who was considered developmentally delayed. Over our months together he progressed from barely speaking to laughing while playing math games with me and writing his very own comic book! I found that empathy and positive reinforcement help empower students to be the catalyst in their own learning. By setting actionable goals and utilizing a customized approach, I encourage learners to achieve their personal best. Taking the time to create fun activities based on each student’s preferences is a critical step for me as it encourages engagement and enjoyment. Keeping education fun is great way to encourage a lifelong love of learning.
My next position was with another tutoring organization in 2022. This platform enables students of all grade levels to reach out on a live chat basis to tutors for assistance with homework and assignments. Paper focused on the development of critical thinking through the Socratic Method and active learning. I also preformed essay analysis. The essays submitted were from elementary to college level. As a reviewer, I provided holistic feedback and encouraged improvement beyond the given assignment to help them improve overall as writers.
