About Adam

Parents/Students:

Hello, my name is Adam and I am currently a student at UTD. I am double majoring in physics and electrical engineering (I really do love school!). As much as I love to learn, I also like to help people, and I feel that helping my fellow peers with their classes reinforces my understanding of the subject matter. I especially love the theory behind what I learn: I personally feel that the theory (the most general case) is what matters. Naturally, I tend to focus my efforts on the teaching of the theory rather than "plug and chug" (this is how it is at the university level!). When I'm not in school I'm at the gym at UTD, as I am a passionate weight lifter (or as I call it, applied physics). I believe education is bred through the unity of the mind and the body working together to accomplish a goal. I especially love working with students who are motivated and genuinely interested in the subjects that I tutor (probably because I am too). Well, that was a crash course about myself, and I look forward to helping you with your academic needs.

Location:

Sessions are held at UT Dallas. Other locations are not optional due to back-to-back scheduling although online sessions are an option.

I look forward to working with you.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

As a physics major, Differential Equations is an essential tool in order to complete almost any problem. I have had extensive experience with DE in my research positions as well as upper division courses and beyond. Calculus and everything prior to Calculus is simply a preparation course for DE as DE is the foundation of the physical sciences, one cannot complete any modern physics problem without understanding differential equations. I also have extensive experience beyond the standard DE course, i.e. PDE, which is partial differential equations and differential geometry amongst other various course well beyond DE.

Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra is a complicated subject that requires a better understanding of the conceptual and theoretical side of mathematics. I have been utilizing Linear Algebra techniques for years in multiple courses. I have had to take many upper division theoretical physics and mathematical courses which require a full knowledge of the standard linear algebra course at any college. The material covered beyond the standard LA course is extremely involved in comparison to the undergraduate course. I have solved thousands of linear algebra problems from many different textbooks and levels so I have a vast knowledge on the subject.

Physics

I am currently a physics major in my senior year at UTD. I have multiple years experience doing research with professors and tutoring students. I also have much experience writing written lessons for various companies. Physics is my forte.
