While my approach will depend on your specific needs, my tutoring always incorporates study skills, note-taking methods, time management, test taking skills, and confidence. My tutoring is designed to not only help you understand your material, but to also get better at studying and mastering material yourself!
I have extensive expertise in standardized testing and curriculum design. A huge part of my job is to evaluate your material, pull out and organize the important points (based on the design of your instructor’s curriculum), and develop new materials to help you learn more effectively.
I believe that any student can excel at any subject if given the right tools and guidance! I myself struggled a lot in school, and I now leverage those past challenges to provide unique, effective approaches for my students to find their own success.
I provide customized materials for each of my students, and these are included with my tutoring services. I design these materials based on your school material (when applicable), as well as your specific needs and challenges. I provide things like: simplified/reorganized outlines of school materials (PowerPoints, class notes, study-guides, etc.), additional practice materials, and mock exams.

I am a nursing/pre-nursing tutor with extensive experience in nursing Pharmacology. A strong understanding of Pharmacology is not only essential to making it through nursing school- but is also the single biggest aspect of a nurse’s day to day career. Pharmacology is the most failed class in nursing school, and is one of the most stressful classes nursing students take. Pharmacology classes move very quickly and require memorization of hundreds of little details. My aim as a Pharmacology tutor is to help my students understand the broad concepts and how they fit together, making it easier to apply and remember the material. In addition to addressing questions and frustrations as they arise in class, I work with students on developing a thorough understanding of the following concepts: *What is the nursing process for giving medication, and how can it be streamlined so that you do not have to memorize a new process every time you learn a new drug? *What are the big groups of drugs, and why are they grouped the way they are? *What is a “mechanism of action” (this is the specific physiology of how a medication affects the body), and how can we streamline our understanding of these mechanisms to make them easier to remember and adapt drug to drug? *Dosage calculations, IV drip calculations, reconstitution solution equations

ISEE

I work regularly with all levels and subjects tested on the ISEE. The structure of the ISEE requires not only subject knowledge, but also advanced critical reasoning and test taking strategy. I work with my ISEE students on understanding the format of the exams, and developing a strategy specific to each section. As we work through these strategies together, I am able to identify specific areas where they may need to strengthen their knowledge or skill. When I notice an area that needs improvement, I provide structured instruction and practice to ensure that they can proceed accurately. Studying for the ISEE also provides a wonderful platform for students to advance their study skills, organization, and critical thinking!

I’m a full-time Nursing tutor with 17 years experience in Nursing Admission Exams. I have worked with the TEAS and HESI exams since their very first editions. I tutor all subjects, and can provide help in specific areas, or with the exam as a whole. Over the years, I have invested thousands of hours into understanding every detail of these exams, so that I can provide accurate material, and effective strategies and methods to get you exceptional results on your exam. The TEAS and HESI are very unique and challenging exams. Unfortunately, the resources available to prepare for the TEAS or HESI exams are also not very accurate to the actual exam. This leads many students to become frustrated with the study process and requires a majority of students to take their exam multiple times. For this reason, I regularly take the TEAS and HESI exams myself to ensure that I am completely familiar with the exact content, style, and grading criteria, and also allows me to understand the experience my students have while taking their exam. My focus is to ensure that you know exactly what you will need to know for your exam, without wasting any time studying material that you do not need. I provide materials for each lesson, as well as additional practice materials to work on between lessons, and mock exams to simulate the testing experience, and allow you to see your progress. My materials provide us with a template to cover every single aspect of the exam, and allow you to experience all of the different question styles and difficulty levels you will see on your specific exam. I also provide tutoring for all other Nursing Admission Exams (Kap, NAT, TSI, etc.)!

I just took my HESI A2 exam and passed! After two months of preparing and studying Emliy’s lectures, practice packets and mocks were really helpful. She had everything structured and explained the material really well. It was easy to follow and understand. She was responsive to answering emails with questions I had and was very thorough. She provided great tips and information on what to focus on that could be on the test. She was spot on! I recommend her if your preparing for the HESI EXAM!

They did not teach me HOW to take the test, how to analyze the question like she does. This is a crucial tools for the TEAS test.
