Teaching Digital Media has been the heart of my career for the past 20 years. With both a bachelor's and a master's degree, and certification in computer and business education, I help students confidently navigate today's creative tools and workflows. Before moving into the classroom, I worked as a systems engineer for Apple Computer, so I bring a strong technical foundation and deep familiarity with the Mac ecosystem to every lesson. My current classroom uses Windows PCs, which means I work in both environments every day and am fully fluent in both macOS and Windows.

In my current role as a high school Digital Media teacher, I design and teach courses that blend graphic design, video production, audio editing, and digital storytelling. I also run my own podcast, handling all aspects of audio production, video production, and graphic design myself. This real world creative work keeps my skills current and allows me to share practical, industry relevant techniques with my students.

Over the years, I have taught in both traditional classroom settings and one on one, and I understand that every learner brings a unique set of goals, strengths, and challenges. My approach is patient, encouraging, and hands on: I focus on building skills step by step, explaining not just which buttons to click, but why certain choices work better than others. Whether you are a student, professional, or hobbyist, my goal is to help you become more confident, independent, and creative with digital media on either Mac or Windows.

Approved Subjects

Adobe After Effects

Adobe After Effects

In my Digital Media classes, I introduce students to motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects, helping them create engaging title sequences, lower thirds, and simple animations. I emphasize keyframing, working with text and shapes, basic expressions, and exporting clean, high‑quality video. My own podcast and video work allow me to demonstrate how After Effects fits into a real production pipeline with Premiere Pro and other tools. Students learn not only how to achieve a certain effect, but also how to organize projects and timelines for efficient, professional workflows.
Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign

As a Digital Media teacher, I use Adobe InDesign to introduce students to layout and publication design, including flyers, brochures, posters, and basic multi‑page documents. I teach how to work with master pages, styles, grids, and typography so designs look clean and professional. Because I regularly create promotional materials for my own projects, I can show learners how to translate design ideas into print‑ready or digital‑ready files. Students leave with a stronger sense of page design, visual hierarchy, and how InDesign connects with Photoshop and Illustrator in the Adobe ecosystem.
Adobe Premiere

Adobe Premiere

I have many years of experience teaching video production with Adobe Premiere Pro, from basic editing and trimming to multi‑track projects with audio, graphics, and color correction. In the classroom, students learn to import footage, manage media, build sequences, and export polished videos for YouTube, social media, and class projects. I also edit my own podcast video content, which means I can share tips on improving pacing, storytelling, and audio quality in real‑world scenarios. My goal is to help learners build a complete workflow, from raw footage to final upload.
Macintosh

Macintosh

I previously worked as a systems engineer for Apple Computer, which gave me deep, practical experience with the Mac platform and its ecosystem. I now teach daily in a Windows‑based classroom, so I am fluent in both macOS and Windows and can help students who are transitioning between the two. Sessions can cover Mac basics, file management, system settings, software installation, backups, and general troubleshooting. I focus on making the Mac feel comfortable and predictable, so learners can concentrate on their creative or academic work instead of fighting with their computer.
