Hey there, potential students! My name is Caroline and I am a current elementary music teacher in Texas. The best part of teaching is learning from your students and equipping them with the information to be as successful as possible. With years of experience as both a performer and educator, I specialize in teaching the oboe and beginner guitar to students from elementary through middle school. My goal is to make learning music an enjoyable, rewarding, and deeply fulfilling experience for each of my students.

I have a bachelors degree in Music Education as well as a teaching license. I am trained heavily in ear training, music theory, and sight singing. I also have my applied study in the Oboe and guitar so I am qualified to give private lessons to help strengthen your playing. I love the oboe and guitar and I hope to make it as fun as possible!

I have had numerous years of ear training naturally being in band for 8 years. However, I took AP Music theory in High School which focuses on ear training (Aural Skills). I am a current Music Education Major in college so I have had 2 years of consistent t Ear Training.
Guitar

Guitar

I have played guitar for over 13 years. I can play acoustic guitar and classical guitar. I have a degree in music education. I can teach beginner guitarists or someone who wants to strengthen their expertise. I can teach anything from basic chords and strumming to more advanced finger picking.
Oboe

I have been playing the oboe as my primary instrument for 13 years. I have taken private lessons for 10 years. In every solo contest I have competed in I have always received the superior rating. I studied Music Education in college with a focus on Oboe.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I am a current music education major in my 2nd year of college. I have taken 3 music theory and sight singing courses so I am thoroughly trained in sight singing. I have also taken the AP Music Theory exam which includes sight singing in it and I received a 4 on the exam.

Great experience!

My 13 year old daughter really enjoyed working with Caroline. Her encouraging way of teaching and correcting was very appreciated! When my daughter wanted to do a duet with her sister (who played piano), Caroline pulled out her electric keyboard and helped both of them work out details of their duet. She did a wonderful job for us and we would highly recommend her!
