Bio

I am currently working on my PhD in statistics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Prior to starting my PhD here, I completed my undergrad at BYU, where I spent a total of six semesters as a TA for various math courses, such as calculus, statistics, regression, and R. Being a TA allowed me to explore my love for teaching, and this motivated me to seek a career in academia where I can help prepare students for meaningful careers in math and analytics.

Upon starting my program here at Texas A&M, I was given the opportunity to tutor within the department for two semesters, before spending a semester as the official instructor for an introductory statistics section of 100 students. One of my favorite parts of being an instructor was the opportunity to hold weekly office hours. This was a time where my students could bring their questions to me regarding course content, test preparation, and other topics. Although I enjoyed teaching in the large-scale lecture setting, I think it was even more rewarding to work with students one-on-one during office hours and help them work through their questions and concerns.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I took the ACT 3 times during high school and scored a 35 on the math section each time. I then obtained my bachelor's degree in data science, and am currently studying statistics as a PhD student. I have since mentored several high school students in ACT math using practice problems from reputable books such as Princeton's Review and Barron's.
Calculus

Calculus

I spent a semester during my undergrad as a TA for Calculus I (equivalent to Calculus AB for those of you in high school AP classes). I now apply calculus every day in my doctoral research as a PhD student studying statistics.
GRE

GRE

I achieved a perfect score on the math section of the GRE when I took it in 2019, which enabled me to be accepted into a PhD program in statistics at Texas A&M University. I now spend a great deal of my time tutoring other students in math and introductory statistics, much of which overlaps with the content you encounter in the math section of the GRE.
Probability

Probability

I majored in data science as an undergraduate and now study statistics as a 2nd-year PhD student. I have now taken 7 different college-level courses in probability theory and its applications. I also spent a semester as the instructor of record for a section of introductory statistics at Texas A&M, and one of the units in this course is an introduction to probability.
R

R

I majored in data science during my undergrad, which required an extensive mastery of the R language. I have applied R in basic statistics, data cleaning, data visualization, regression, machine learning, and other advanced topics. As part of my PhD dissertation, I am currently developing an R package that fits spatial models to large datasets in parallel.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I obtained my bachelor's degree in data science, and am currently studying statistics as a PhD student. As part of my PhD, I spent several hours each week as a TA for introductory mathematics courses that cover similar topics to what you might see on the math section of the SAT. I have also mentored several high school students in SAT math using practice problems from reputable books such as Princeton's Review and Barron's.
Statistics

Statistics

I have been studying statistics for 7 years as a bachelor's, master's, and now PhD student. I have spent a total of 6 semesters as a TA for different statistics courses, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have also been the instructor for a section of introductory statistics at Texas A&M University. Part of my doctoral research revolves around the pedagogy of learning mathematics & statistics. I enjoy helping other students understand principles of statistics and how they can be easily applied to real-life scenarios.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I spent a semester as an undergraduate TA for calculus and trigonometry, where I taught weekly recitations and held office hours to meet with students and help them better understand the content of the course.

Amazing

I am very happy to write a great review for Robert. He is amazing at explaining difficult ideas in a simple way that everyone can understand. From the start, he has shown patience and skill in teaching, making sure each student feels comfortable with the material. He always asks if we have questions and encourages us to speak up when we don’t understand something. This makes the learning environment very open and friendly. He truly cares about our success and is always willing to help us, showing that he is deeply committed to his students. He also asks for feedback regularly, always looking for ways to improve his teaching. This shows how much he cares about giving us the best learning experience possible. His knowledge of statistics is very impressive. He explains complex topics in simple terms and uses real-life examples to make them easier to grasp. This not only helps us understand the current lesson but also builds a strong foundation for future learning. In short, he is an excellent teacher who is knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated. He has made a big difference in my understanding of statistics, and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn more about the subject.

Great teacher and extremely patient

Helped me understand the material and explained everything so well. I now feel comfortable going into my test when before I had absolutely no idea what was going on.
