Hi I’m Akshara! I am currently a Junior at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a B.S.A. in Neuroscience on the pre-med track. I have completed all of the core science requirements for this pathway, including advanced coursework in biology, chemistry, and related fields, while maintaining a 3.955 GPA. I graduated high school summa cum laude with a strong foundation in advanced sciences through AP Biology and Dual Credit Chemistry, experiences that prepared me well for both college-level academics and tutoring others in these subjects.

My teaching background began in high school, where I worked as a Mathnasium tutor for two years and also provided private, in-home tutoring for students ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade. These roles gave me valuable experience in adapting my teaching methods to different age groups and learning styles, helping students build confidence in challenging subjects. While my early tutoring focused on math, my college studies have allowed me to expand into the sciences, where my academic strengths and passion now align.

At UT Austin, I currently serve as a lab mentor in both biology and chemistry settings, where I assist freshman students in mastering laboratory techniques, understanding scientific concepts, and transitioning smoothly from high school to college-level coursework. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate complex material clearly and support students as they develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With my strong academic background, proven teaching experience, and dedication to science education, I am well-prepared to help students succeed in their science courses.
